Mary Kay CC Cream Review!

Hey everyone! Oh my goodness, it has been such a stressful week! I am going on vacation next week (woot woot!), but that means that I had a work load equivalent to two weeks this week, so everyday I was going into work early and staying late. Then to top it off, I was on the way to the grocery store today and saw a baby kitten get hit by a car in the middle of the highway. I quickly pulled over and ran into the middle of the road, and managed to save the poor little guy. I rushed him to the animal hospital, where he had surgery, and I'm so happy to say he will be ok! However, now I have an extra cat that I don't really have room for. I plan on nursing him back to health and then I will try to find him a new home. Wish me luck!

About a month ago, Mary Kay was generous enough to send me a package full of products to try out. My favorite of all of the products they sent was their CC cream. I had never used a CC cream before and just usually used my Bare Minerals Foundation. I absolutely love wearing this stuff, and have been using it everyday! It has made my skin so smooth and has really evened out my skin tone. It also applied really smooth and doesn't look cakey under my powder, which is awesome!

For those of you who don't know what CC cream is: CC means "Color Correcting." CC cream is meant to even out your skin tone and moisturize. (Most contain SPF as well) The Mary Kay CC Cream is a pretty decent size (1 oz) and I usually use 1 1/2 pumps to cover my whole face. I'm guessing this will last me about 5 months. This retails for $20 on the Mary Kay website.

Here are some pictures:

This is the shade "very light." It comes off a little orange in the pictures, but it blends really well and matches my pale skin tone perfectly!

JORD Wood Watch Review

Hey everyone!

Awhile ago, someone from JORD watches contacted me and was wondering it I would like to try out one of their wood watches. Now, I'm not really a big watch wearer, but my brother-in-law is, so I said yes with the plan of giving him the watch to try it out.

The watch I was sent was the Ely Series in Black (Retails for $129) Here is the specific info that JORD has provided:

The Ely series is our elegant, small-face design. This is that kind of watch that makes you grin for no apparent reason. Light, sexy, and compact design makes this a popular, everyday watch. There are no numbers on this watch other than the date (but we'll assume you already know how to tell time).
  • Hardened, Scratch-proof glass face: 26mm diameter
  • Frame / bezel: 34mm diameter
  • Band width: 21.5mm
  • Lug ends: 40mm
  • Single action locking clasp (stainless steel)
  • Premium Citizen Miyota movement with date window
Each JORD watch is designed to be splash proof but is not intended for complete submergence in water. Also note that due to the nature of the wood chosen for each unique timepiece, colors and grain pattern may vary from photos.

This watch is so beautiful! I had never really seen a watch made from natural wood before, so I definitely thought that this was really neat. It even smelled like wood!

I personally think that this has more of a masculine look to it, and would definitely be more suited for men than women. Then again, like I said--I'm not that into watches, so maybe there are some women out there that would enjoy wearing this!

When I gave this to my brother-in-law, he was really excited at first, but became quickly disappointed when we realized that the watch was too small for his wrist. Yes, my brother-in-law has slightly larger wrists than your average guy, but I don't think that they are that big. We played around with the watch for awhile to see if there was a way to make it bigger, but it doesn't seem like that is possible.

When looking through JORD's website, I did notice that their other designs do get bigger or come in larger sizes, so it just appears that the one I selected was on the smaller scale.

Would I recommend the watch? Yes, but just look into sizing first!

Salon Perfect Flamingo Flair

Hey everyone!

I hope you're all well! Today, I have another Salon Perfect polish to share with you all in the shade Flamingo Flair.

Flamingo Flair is a bright peach crème. In some lighting this can also appear to have a slight hint of pink to it as well. This one applied really smooth and was pretty easy to do thin coats. (I was actually really surprised by this. I'm newer to the Salon Perfect brand and I've heard a lot of other bloggers talk about how thick and difficult the formula is to work with) This will dry matte, so a top coat is necessary. I used three coats of polish and two coats of Miracote top coat.

This retails for about $3 at Walmart.

Here are the pictures:

Do any of you guys have much experience with the Salon Perfect brand? If so, do you like it?
