Sally Hansen Caribbean Coral

Hey everyone!

Today, I have some swatches of Sally Hansen's Caribbean Coral from the Xtreme Wear line to share with you all! Caribbean Coral is a bright red-toned coral. The formula was great, and I had no problems applying this. I used two coats.

China Glaze On Safari Collection Giveaway!

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to post a quick reminder to let you all know that my China Glaze On Safari Collection Giveaway ends tomorrow night at 11:59 CST! I've had a fairly low number of entries, so if you haven't had a chance to participate yet, I would encourage you to do so!

Revlon Whimsical

Hey everyone!

Today, I have some swatches of Revlon's Whimsical to share with you all! This polish took me forever to find! I was searching for it for probably about two months, until I found it a couple of months ago.

Whimsical is a milky blue jelly with blue and pink hexagon glitter and smaller silver glitter pieces. This polish is most commonly known as the dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Glitter In the Air. I found that this looks best when layered over a light blue creme. For the photos below, I used Essie's Borrowed and Blue.

China Glaze Fall 2012 On Safari Collection Swatches

Hey everyone!

Today I have the swatches of China Glaze's Fall 2012 On Safari collection to share with you all! For those of you who don't know, I'm currently running a giveaway where one of my readers will win this entire collection! If you haven't had a chance to enter yet, click here!

Now on to the swatches:

China Glaze Adventure Red-y
This is your basic medium-toned red. This polish is super opaque and will definitely stain your nails, so make sure you use a basecoat!

China Glaze Call of the Wild
A dark brown with a very slight hint of burgundy to it.

China Glaze Desert Sun
A caramel color with a light hint of orange to it.

China Glaze Elephant Walk
A blue-toned gray with a hint of silver shimmer.

China Glaze Exotic Encounters
A medium-teal shade.

China Glaze I Herd That
A red, orange, gold, and holographic glitter in a clear base.

China Glaze I'm Not Lion
A gold, silver, and holographic glitter in a clear base.

China Glaze Jungle Queen
A dark purple with a hint of gray to it. This also has a slight purple shimmer.

China Glaze Kalahari Kiss
A light-golden yellow with a slight hint of gray to it.

China Glaze Man Hunt
A bright blue creme. Very opaque.

China Glaze Prey Tell
A very dark burgundy red.

China Glaze Purr-fect Plum
A medium-toned purple/berry color.

The formula for these was pretty basic. They were fairly thick, which made them a little difficult to get even at times. The thickness made them very opaque, and some of these only needed one coat! Overall, I think this is an interesting collection and I can't wait to wear these in the fall!

Born Pretty Nail Stencils Review!

Hey everyone!

Born Pretty sent me some of their nail stencils to review for you all! I just have to start out by saying that I absolutely loved these! Basically, all you have to do with these is place a sticker on your nail, paint over it, then peel it off. The stickers/stencils aren't too sticky, so they apply and come off super easy.

Born Pretty offers these in a kit, which comes with 10 different designs, for $5.68. I decided to keep things simple the first time using these and just put a flower on my accent nail.

Essie To Buy Or Not To Buy

Hey everyone!

Today, I have some swatches of Essie's To Buy Or Not To Buy to share with you all! The name of this polish is actually kind of funny since I debated about whether or not to buy this during three different trips to Target before I finally decided it was worth it.

To Buy Or Not To Buy is a beautiful lavendar color with micro glitter flecks in it when it's in the bottle, but unfortunately when on the nail, it just looks like a light purple cream. Like most Essie's the formula for this one was a little thin, so I ended up having to use three coats.

Sally Hansen Coral Reef

Hey everyone!

I started Holly and Polish exactly one year ago today! Thanks to all of you who have been coming here to check out my nails! I was going to do some cool nail art for this occasion, but I have been extremely sick with laryngitis for the past week, so I really didn't have the energy to put anything together. I have plenty of pictures backed up of some great polishes, so I'm just going to share one of them with you all today!

I'm going to share some pictures of Coral Reef by Sally Hansen from the Xtreme Wear line! Coral Reef is a really pretty bubble gum pink color. It's definitely a lot more pink than coral. The formula for this one was awesome! It applied really smooth and was completely opaque in two coats. I picked this up at Target for about $2.50.

Born Pretty Glitter Review!

Hey everyone!

About a month ago, Born Pretty sent me some Blue Glitter Sheets to try out! This was my first time ever using a product like this and I assumed that it would be a little tricky to work with, but was surprised at how easy it was to use! I just picked up each piece individually with a pair of tweezers, set it on top of semi-dry polish, and then put a layer of top coat over the nail once all the glitter was in place.

I had a bunch of ideas on what I could create with these, but I'm not that great at nail art, so things didn't turn out too fancy.

 Here's what I made:

China Glaze Ingrid

Hey everyone!

Tonight I have some swatches of China Glaze's Ingrid from the Vintage Vixen Collection to share with you all! Ingrid is a dusty medium brown with a beautiful gold shimmer. This polish is really pretty, and is something I could see myself wearing often!

The formula for this one was great! The polish glides on the nail really smooth and wasn't streaky at all. This was completely opaque in two coats.

Basic Nail Art Stamping Set by Konad Review!

Hey everyone!

About a month ago, I was contacted by NailPolishCanada.com to see if I would be interested in reviewing one of the products that they sell. They ended up sending me the Basic Nail Art Stamping Set by Konad!

This set costs $17 and includes: a stamper, a scraper, an m36 plate, and a small bottle of Konad's white stamping polish.

I had already been using the Konad stamper and scraper when doing nail stamping in the past, and I think they work great, so I don't really have anything to compare those parts of the product to. I, however, had never used a Konad brand stamping plate before, and have always used the Bundle Monster brand. (mainly because they're cheaper) After trying out this stamping plate, I really don't see that much of a difference between this and the generic options. The stamp transferred on the nail well, but I felt that the designs on this plate were very similar to some other plates from different brands.

Also, the Konad white stamping polish was new to me. I normally use the Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes for stamping, since they have a thicker formula and usually stamp on the nail great. I think the Konad polish is almost identical to the Xtreme Wear polishes. (The Xtreme Wear polishes usually retail for about $2.50, so they're a much better deal!)

All in all, this is a nice set if you're trying out stamping for the first time. However, if you plan to do stamping often, you can find much cheaper options equal in quality to Konad.

Check out what I made from this set:

China Glaze In The Lime Light

Hey everyone!

Today I have some swatches of China Glaze's In The Lime Light to share with you all! In The Lime Light is a green neon with a bright blue shimmer to it. This color is really interesting and is the only green neon that I own. The formula was a little runny, so I ended up having to use 4 coats. (I've found that that's pretty typical with a neon polish) Also, since this is a neon, it dried matte, so a couple layers of top coat are necessary.

Essie Bikini So Teeny

Hey everyone!

I have some swatches of Essie's Bikini So Teeny to share with you all today! Bikini So Teeny is an awesome periwinkle blue color. This polish has a slight shimmer to it in the bottle, but it wasn't really noticeable when on the nail. The formula was a little bit difficult to work with, so I ended up having to use three coats.

American Cloud Nails

Hey everyone!

Happy 4th of July! To celebrate the holiday, I created some American themed cloud nails. The polishes I used for this are: Deborah Lippmann's Naked, Sally Hansen's Cherry Red from the Xtreme Wear line, Sally Hansen's White On from the Xtreme Wear line, and China Glaze's Man Hunt.
