Hey everyone!
Today, I have some swatches of China Glaze's Sun Worshiper to share with you all! Sun Worshiper is a very bright neon yellow. This yellow kind of resembles the color of the cheese powder that comes in a pack of mac 'n cheese. Being that I am so pale, this color does not look that great on me. This would look awesome on someone who is a little bit tanner or who has a darker skin tone.
This polish was really sheer! I ended up having to use five thin coats in order to make my nail line not be visible. Even though this required a ton of coats, it still applied really smooth and wasn't streaky. Since this is a neon shade, it dries matte, so a top coat is a must!

Wow, I think that looks amazing! I am not a fan of yellow in the slightest, but I LOVE that!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour but OMG 5 COATS!!!
ReplyDelete5 coats is not fun... But the color is smashing :)
ReplyDeleteFunny how it looks so yellow in your pictures, my bottle is clearly a neon orange ^^ And the color looks really weird on me as well.
ReplyDeleteWow 5 coats! I usually quit before then and accept that I'll have VNL.
ReplyDeletewow! that color is stunning!
ReplyDeleteit looks pretty but sad it's so sheer....but I like the color!
ReplyDeleteTry putting a coat of white on first, I've read that is supposed to help. It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous colour!
ReplyDeleteI have the entire Poolside collection this is from...EXCEPT this shade! - often called the CG neon collection (2010) - won't be doing that anymore when the new CG neons come out this month! Others have likened the color to the Kraft Mac N Cheese dehydrated powder cheese packet! It's a hard shade for most to wear. There is a similar shade in the new Essie 'want-a-be' neon collection out now..I think it's the first one called Lights. It's not quite as bright as this one.
ReplyDeleteThe comment from Connie is very good advice - it really does help to have a base coat of white to start with on these neons. You can even use a nude shade. I use Zoya Cho for yellows often as then it does not give me any chalky look that white can give at times.
The new CG 2012 neon collection has more of a red/orange and then jumps to a 'highlighter' looking yellow. They skipped over trying to get to this shade. However not all in the new neons are going to show true neon. The blue is really hard to ever get to go neon in polish colors. Just like Pool Boy Toy from the collection this one is from does not make it into the neon game - yet it was one of the more popular along with Pool Party (the pink) and Flip-Flop Fantasy.
I soooo wish they would do Limonyte over again which was a neon shimmer from CG in 2005.
So bright!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun colour, great pictures!
ReplyDeleteAlthough this requires a lot of layers, it looks so amazing and so bright that I think it's worth the trouble :) x
