Nicole by OPI Make a Comet-ment

Hey everyone!

Happy New Year! The other night I went to Target with one of my sisters to help her pick out a new camera. When I was there, I ended up swinging by the nail polish section, and I noticed a bunch of polishes on clearance. One of the polishes I ended up picking up was Nicole by OPI's Make a Comet-ment.

Make a Comet-ment is a beautiful silver holographic glitter. I am absolutely in love with this polish! It applies great, and you get a lot of glitter on your nails with just one coat. This would be great for layering, but I really love it alone. (I had to use four coats to make it fully opaque)

Since I found this in the clearance section, I ended up buying two of these with the plan to sell one of them in a blog sale. I'm starting to get way too many polishes, and I would love to be able to find all of the ones I don't use a nice home.  So, I will probably end up posting a blog sale sometime later today or tomorrow. :)

Revlon Orchid

Hey everyone!

Happy Friday! This week has just been super crazy for me. I started a new job on Tuesday, and when I got there, I found out the training I have to do for 4-8 weeks is full-time instead of part-time, which is what I was hired for. I ended up having to work way more hours than planned and talk to a bunch of people within the company to get my training schedule changed. Definitely stressful. I think I finally might have gotten everything solved yesterday, so I'm hoping things work out.

Today, I'm wearing Revlon's Orchid. This polish actually belongs to my sister, but since we live together, we tend to share our polishes a lot. (Thanks Casey!) Orchid is a really pretty, light fuchsia color. I formula for this one was ok, but not great. It was a little bit runny and hard to work with. Also, this was a little bit streaky. I ended up using three coats.

Misa Toxic Seduction

Hey everyone!

Sorry for not posting in over a week! I just started a new job that requires long training hours, and with Christmas, I just haven't had time to concentrate on my nails. Things are starting to settle down a little bit, so I'm now going to go back to my regular Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday schedule.

Tonight, I have some swatches of Misa's Toxic Seduction to show you all. Toxic Seduction is a dark green shimmer with a hint of teal to it. This polish applied great, and was completely opaque and even in two coats. Here are some pictures:

25 days of Christmas nails: Ornaments

Hey everyone!

Sorry for not posting again yesterday! I am really not good at this whole posting every day thing, and to be honest, I'm starting to get tired of just making Christmas designs. Oh well, only 9 more days left!

For my day 16 Christmas nails, I decided to try out my ornament stamp (BM-225). The polishes I used are: Orly's Gilded Coral, Orly's Wandering Vine, China Glaze's Calypso Blue, and Sally Hansen's Flirt from the Xtreme Wear line. I really liked how my snowflake nails turned out when I used the stamp three times on each nail, so I decided to do that again with this stamp. Check it out:

25 days of Christmas nails: Snow

Hey everyone!

Just as a reminder...my giveaway ends tomorrow night at midnight CST! If you haven't had a chance to sign up yet, you can sign up here.

For my day 14 Christmas nails, I decided to create a snowfall look. To do this, I painted my nails with Essie's Borrowed and Blue, and then used Sally Hansen's White On from the Xtreme Wear line for the snow. Here are a few pictures:

25 days of Christmas nails: Holly

Hey everyone!

For my day 13 Christmas nails I decided to try out my Holly stamp. I used OPI's French Quarter For Your Thoughts as a base, and then use Cherry Red by Sally Hansen from the Xtreme Wear line and Orly's Wandering Vine for the Holly stamp (BM-14). This is probably one of my favorite Christmas nails that I've done so far. Then again, my name is Holly so that's most likely why. Here are some pictures:

25 days of Christmas nails: Snowman Faces

Hey everyone!

For my day 12 Christmas nails, I decided to do snowman faces. To create these, I used White On, Black Out, and Sun Kissed by Sally Hansen from the Xtreme Wear line. These were super easy to make. I just used tape to make hat, and then used a dotting tool and nail art brush for the eyes, mouth, and nose. As you will notice in my pictures, I accidentally smudged one of my nails, but I still think these look really cute. What do you guys think?

25 days of Christmas nails: More Snowflakes

Hey everyone!

Sorry for missing my Christmas nails post yesterday! I went out shopping with my Mom the majority of the day and then after that spent the rest of the night practicing piano for something I had to play at this morning. I didn't have any Christmas-y nail pictures already done, so I just decided to skip the day.

For my day 11 Christmas nails, I decided to try out my snowflake stamp again. This time, I wore Essie's Sand Tropez and put three snowflakes on top in red, green, and white. For the snowflakes, I used Cherry Red and White On, which are both by Sally Hansen from the Xtreme Wear line, and Orly's Wandering Vine. I really like how this turned out. What do you guys think?

25 days of Christmas nails: China Glaze Twinkle Lights

Hey everyone!

For my day 8 Christmas nails, I have some swatches of China Glaze's Twinkle Lights to show you all. Twinkle lights is a red, gold, and green glitter. This is a fairly sheer glitter, and I had to use four coats to fully cover my nail. This polish would be great for layering, but I really love how it looks alone. Here are a couple of pictures:

25 days of Christmas nails: Peppermint

Hey everyone!

Only 19 more days till Christmas! For my day 6 Christmas nails, I used tape to make a peppermint look. This took me absolutely forever to do since I had to wait for each stripe to dry before I could add more tape to do the other ones. I'm sure I could have cut the tape into even strips to just do each nail at a time, but I was afraid that I would end up messing up the stripes if I did that. I used two Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear polishes in the shades White On and Cherry Red to create this. Here are some pictures:

25 days of Christmas nails: Snowflakes

Hey everyone!

I hope you've all been having a great Monday so far! For my Christmas nails today, I tried to stamp some snowflakes over Misa's Toxic Seduction. The Misa polish looked great behind the white snowflakes, but I didn't do that great of a job stamping. This was only about my 3rd time stamping my nails, and I had a hard time getting the snowflake to be in the middle of my nail. So, the design on all of my nails is shifted over to the left a little bit...oops! I think I'll end up trying to stamp the snowflake again sometime soon, but maybe just for an accent nail. Here are some pictures:

25 days of Christmas nails: Nails Inc Charing Cross

Hey everyone!

I hope you've all had a great Sunday! My day has been kind of stressful. I spent the majority of the day taking my Grandma out to do some Christmas shopping, but when we were leaving one of the stores we went to, she noticed that one of my tires was flat. We ended up taking it in to get patched and found out that the whole inside of the tire was gutted and that I needed a new one. We just got home and I still hadn't had a chance to do my Christmas nails to post today, so unfortunately I just have some swatches of a polish to show you all. It's red though, so I guess that's Christmas-y!

Charing Cross by Nails Inc is a bright cherry red color. I used this polish for my day 1 Christmas nails, and definitely plan on using it a lot this month. The formula for this one was awesome, and I had no problems at all. I received this polish in a swap that I did with Vicky from The Manicure Maniac this past fall. Here are some pictures:

25 days of Christmas nails: Essie Going Incognito and glitter gradient

Hey everyone!

I hope you've all been having a great weekend so far! I'm just sitting here by my Christmas tree watching the Harry Potter weekend, so I'm doing excellent. Today, I have some pictures of my day 3 Christmas nails to show you all. To create this look, I painted my nails with Essie's Going Incognito and then lightly put Forever 21's red glitter on the bottom of my nails. (I put a little glob of the polish at the bottom of my nail, wiped off the rest of the polish on the brush, and then dragged the brush through the polish on my nail) Also, I tried looking on the bottle of glitter for an actual name, and all it says is "red." Not very creative, but the polish was cheap, so I guess I can't expect much. This was my first time doing a gradient type of look, and I think it turned out ok. What do you think?

25 days of Christmas nails: Suzi loves wine at the Ritz

Hey everyone!

Today, I have day 2 of my Christmas nails series for you all. To create this look, I used OPI's Suzi Loves Cowboys, Sally Hansen's Wined Up from the Insta-Dri line, and Orly's The Ritz. This was really easy to make. I just used tape to have the nail be half brown (Suzi Loves Cowboys) and half red (Wined Up), and then drew a line across the nail using The Ritz. Here are some pictures:

25 days of Christmas nails: Checkered Charing Cross and Twinkle Lights

Hey everyone!

Today, I will be starting my own nail series called the 25 days of Christmas nails. I know that there are a few Christmas challenges going around, but to be honest, I just don't like the nail challenges that everyone else has been doing. I don't like having restrictions and don't want to post the same nail art designs on the days that everyone else is. So, I think this is a great compromise that will allow me to be creative with my Christmas designs.

Today, I decided to keep things simple and used tape to make a checkered manicure. The two polishes I used are Nails Inc's Charing Cross and China Glaze's Twinkle Lights. Here are some pictures:
