First time nail stamping!

Hey everyone!

About a month ago, I ordered all of the stuff I needed to do nail stamping and was really excited to try it out. I’m not that great at nail art, so I figured stamping would be a really great and easy way for me to be creative with my nails. Once I got everything in the mail, I instantly realized that it might not be as easy as I thought it would be and felt a little intimidated. I ended up storing it all away until last night when I finally decided to give it a try.

I ended up recycling the manicure I already had on of Zoya’s Jules and stamped Orly’s rage over it using the plate BM-203. I absolutely love these two colors together! I think I did ok for my first stamping attempt. It definitely doesn’t look perfect, and there are some parts of my nails where I didn’t get the stamp on evenly or didn’t push the stamp down onto my entire nail, but I think it could have been much worse. Over time, I'm assuming this will become a lot easier through practice and trail and error. Do those of you who do nail stamping have any tips or tricks that could make learning this any easier?

  1. I'm new to this too, Holly and I know exactly what you mean! I've had a bit of feedback from other bloggers - it seems the trick is speed! That, and lots of practice I guess! This looks great for a first attempt, mine just looked like a mess!

  2. Not bad for you first try! When I first got it, I could barely pick it up. And yes, practice does make perfect, and speed is very important. Also try using thicker more pigmented polishes and make sure to clean you plate and stamper after a couple uses. Make sure there is no finger/hand oil on it. That prevents the stamper from picking up the image. Hope this helps!! :)

  4. I think the best tip I learned was that you don't really need to press very hard... both when picking up your design and when placing it on your nail. I wanted to press really hard at first and it is so much easier when you don't! Also, if the design is too small for a nail, try double stamping it sideways. A lot of designs will still look good even if they aren't lined up perfectly. Practice, practice, practice! I'm still learning more every time I do it! :)
